Let Us Work Together

Let us work together!

Last Tuesday, we had a Bible study at Nirajs house and he shared about his experience with the Holy Spirit.  Also during the Bible study, Ninaz shared that he wakes up in the early morning, washes his hands, reads the Bible, and prays.  Ninaz mentioned that he has joy in his morning routine.  Shyam shared that since he has found Jesus, God has been blessing him in many ways.  Shyams friends and relatives have also acknowledged the blessings by God.  Shyam shared that he will witness to his relatives in Virginia and New York.  While sharing with each other, I really recognized the work of God in our community.  It confirms that we are filled with the Holy Spirit and that it works in our heart.  At the end of the night, I had the opportunity to share the Gospel with Pushpa, Shyams brother in law.  He accepted Jesus as his Lord and savior through the Gospel and Shyams testimony.

When Jesus returned to his mission field in Capernaum, many people were standing outside the house because the house was already full.  Many people wanted to see Jesus because they heard of his many miracles.  They were enticed by Jesus and hearing that he could heal the sick, raise the dead, and cast out demons.

In this Bible context, four men carried a paralytic to the top of the house, dug a hole from the roof, and carried him through this big hole by working together to see Jesus.  Jesus stood inside the house and the house was already full with people.  The four men and the paralytic made their way to see Jesus.  Jesus recognized the faith that these men possessed and he told them that their sins are forgiven.  He also commanded the paralytic to take his mat and go home.  The paralytic got up and went away.  The witnesses in the house were astonished at the miracle that Jesus performed.  All of them ad mired Jesus.

When anyone meets Jesus with faith, their sins will be forgiven. Think about this wonderful message. Our sins are forgiven by the power of Jesus. Not only that but also your sickness may be healed.  Think about this.  If you assure your sins forgiven, you may enjoy peace. That peace is healing.

In this sermon, I would like to encourage you to work together. The paralytic could not walk by himself and he could not meet Jesus without the help of the four men.  His 4 friends helped the paralytic and brought him to Jesus.  Jesus forgave him for his sins and healed his sickness.  The friends uplifted the paralytic and his pain to Jesus and Jesus saved him from his sickness.  Your blessing should be shared with other people who do not know Jesus and help them to experience Him.

1.      My sickness will be healed by power of Jesus.

2.      I will work together to witness Jesus to unbelievers.

3.      I will attend the church regularly on time.

4.      I will love and cooperate other church member as my brothers and sisters in Christ.

Mark 2:1-12

1 A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home.

2 So many gathered that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them.

3 Some men came, bringing to him a paralytic, carried by four of them.

4 Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus and, after digging through it, lowered the mat the paralyzed man was lying on.

5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven."

6 Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves,

7 "Why does this fellow talk like that? He's blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?"

8 Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, "Why are you thinking these things?

9 Which is easier: to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up, take your mat and walk'?

10 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins. . . ." He said to the paralytic,

11 "I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home."

12 He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, "We have never seen anything like this!"
